The top seven competitors all hit the magical 100lb mark with top scorer Jon Gray setting a new Dabinett Match Lake record in the Cider Farm Lakes Sunday Open Match.

He fished paste onto the island ledge at peg six and weighed-in a 69-carp catch totalling 176-11-0.

● Paste poled at 10 metres off Sidney's 75 tempted a 97-12-0 winning catch of carp for Pete Sivell in the Avon Angling Midweek Open, fished at Landsend Fisheries, near Wedmore.

Second-placed Mike West poled the same bait at 11 metres into the lakeside margins of John's 42 for 90-8-0 of carp to 10-0-0, while Nick Duckett claimed the minor berth with a similar 88-14-0 taken at 13 metres off Sidney's 79 with sweetcorn.

Joe Thompson topped the silverfish list at John's 55 where soft pellet came up with 11-4-0 of mostly skimmers, roach and crucian carp.

● Mike Nicholls topped both categories in the Bathampton AA Disabled & Over-55s match, fished on Bridge Pool at Hunstrete Lakes.

He poled maggot and caster into the shallow waters of peg 31 and included the heaviest silverfish weight of 20-15-0 in his winning overall weight of 42-0-0.

Hot on his heels came Terry Bruton, who fished an 8mm hair-rigged pellet via both a straight lead and pellet waggler at disabled peg seven for 40-14-0 of carp to almost 8lb.

● League leader Ian Chapple remains the hot favourite to win the Alcove AC Monday Series after clinching victory in the penultimate round, fished at Whitehouse Farm.

The club's vice-president poled pellet at 11 metres towards the island off peg 19 for 20-7-0 of skimmers and carp.

Main challenger Steve Dawson finished in second place with 19-5-0 of roach taken from neighbouring peg 18 with waggler and maggot.
