M4 traffic chaos: Grain of truth behind gridlock
THIS picture shows the lorry which jackknifed on the M4 yesterday, shedding 20 tonnes of grain across the motorway and causing chaos on roads around Bristol.
The accident – in which nobody was seriously hurt – happened at 11am on the eastbound carriageway between the M48 junction and the Almondsbury Interchange with the M5. Lanes were closed in both directions, causing long delays on the motorway and alternative routes to be put in place.

“If Lorry-drivers have to go through such intensive training, and have to pass a very strict test before they are allowed to drive a Lorry of this size, how is it that so many of them keep crashing (percentage wise) and causing massive losses to the producers of the goods they carry, and how come they still drive so dangerously close to each other, especially on the Motorways.
Sheer lunacy :-(”
