STAFF and pupils at Highridge Infant School in Bishopsworth said farewell to their "Aunty Pat" yesterday.

A special assembly was held for Pat Thomas who was the school secretary for nearly 19 years before she retired.

Head teacher Jill Spiteri said: "She will be sorely missed for her dedication by the entire school community. Staff call her Aunty Pat, which symbolises the caring commitment she has given to the school."

Parents and governors also attended the assembly and in the evening there were more celebrations at a barn dance.
