Good news to report on local authorities
Pubic sector organisations across North Somerset are working well together according to the findings of a new report.
The Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) assesses partnership working between North Somerset Council, the police, fire service, NHS and other services.
The report considers how important issues, such as clean streets and health, are being tackled and prospects for improvement.
The CAA also includes an assessment of North Somerset Council, which considers its use of resources and how well the council manages its performance.
An assessment of adult social services by the Care Quality Commission and Ofsted's assessment of children's services are also considered, with both also performing well overall.
The report highlighted that the public were satisfied about how green and clean the district, that the quality of life was good. But it also revealed that residents felt that they could not influence local decisions and were not satisfied that public services seek their views.
Cllr Nigel Ashton, leader of North Somerset Council and chair of the North Somerset Partnership, said: "The CAA is designed to give people an overall view of all services in their area and there is some fantastic work being done across North Somerset."
