Goggles for Army dogs
The Army dogs that sniff out explosives in Afghanistan are getting some little rubber boots, and some 'doggles' to protect their eyes.
This snippet comes to you courtesy of the Ministry of Defence's equipment magazine, which reports on the work of the thousands of people based at Abbey Wood, on the outskirts of Bristol, and others in bases around the region. The dogs already have cooling mats and fold-up drinking bowls. But military equipment stories have only one outcome, so look out soon for: dogs telling the press how the doggles didn't keep the dust out; how American dogs have much better boots; and how it's a disgrace that the lives of British dogs are being put at risk because MPs are spending all the money on their second homes. You read it here first.
