Gloucestershire's golfing prowess continues with second team victory
GLOUCESTERSHIRE'S women golfers lead the South West in almost all categories.
The county's second team have now won the second team league by beating Dorset 5.5 – 3.5 in the final at Cumberwell Park.

The county also hold the first team and junior South West trophies. And they would probably have made it a clean sweep by winning the seniors event as well but for the weather.
Gloucestershire beat Devon and Dorset 2-1 and Wiltshire 3-0 on the opening two days in the South West Seniors three-day jamboree at Bristol & Clifton, but torrential rain made the course unplayable on the third day.

Wins for Louise Church/Paula Crabtree and Corrinne Durber/Kelly Fowler with a half for Anna Russell/Victoria Wakeley-Jones brought a 2.5-0.5 lead after the foursomes at Cumberwell. But Dorset rallied and the singles were halved with two young debutants Grace McLaughlin and Russell and the experienced Durber winning their matches.
Alex Saunders (Bristol & Clifton), who helped the county reach the final, was ineligible as she had played too many first-team matches, but she supported the team as a caddy.
