Teenage academy players David Payne and Chris Dent, both 18-years-old, have signed two-year contracts with Gloucestershire.

Quick bowler Payne, who will start in October, was also in the England Under-19 Test squad which played against Bangladesh this summer.

Backwell batsman and left-arm spinner Dent will play overseas during the winter and join the rest of the squad in March.

Dent said: "I am incredibly pleased at signing, I have worked hard throughout my time with the County and it is great to have fulfilled my goal of becoming a professional cricketer."
