John Bracewell will take the opportunity to assess some young players when Gloucestershire take on Leeds Bradford UCCE in a three-day game at Weetwood, starting today.

Of the team who took on Derbyshire this week, only Kadeer Ali, Grant Hodnett, Steve Snell and Anthony Ireland are expected to be involved.

The rest of that side will be heading for Bath today and tomorrow for some intensive one-day practice ahead of next Tuesday's Friends Provident Trophy quarter-final against Nottinghamshire at Bristol.

Bracewell has opted to go up to Leeds and will be taking particular interest in the performances of Gemaal Hussain, Vikram Banerjee, David Brown and Tom Stayt with the big quarter-final in mind.

Gloucestershire CCC Academy players Chris Dent, Jack Taylor and Mitchell Wilson have also been selected in a squad of 12. Dent is a left-handed opening batsman, Taylor an off-spinner and Wilson a pace bowler.

At least two of them will play and Bracewell said: "It's an ideal chance for me to take a look at them. Chris has got a couple of tons this season and deserves his chance."

Steve Adshead has also been named and is likely to share the wicketkeeping duties with Snell during the course of the game.

Leg-spinner Matthew Gitsham would have been involved, but is sidelined with a back problem. Ian Saxelby is still recovering from mumps.

Gloucestershire (probable): Ali, Hodnett, Dent, Brown, Adshead, Snell, Hussain, Stayt, Ireland, Banerjee, Taylor, Wilson.
