Former Gloucestershire cricketer Kevin Curran dies aged 53

Former Gloucestershire cricketer Kevin Curran has died at the age of 53.

Curran - who was also the Zimbabwe national team's former coach - is understood to have collapsed while jogging.

He had played for Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire before he retired in 1999.

Zimbabwe Cricket say the exact cause of death is not yet known.

Curran played in the 1983 and 1987 World Cups for Zimbabwe and made over 1,000 runs in a season five times in the English domestic game.

After retiring in 1999 he had a spell as assistant coach of Zimbabwe before taking charge of the Namibian team.

He was also Zimbabwe coach from 2005 to 2007.
