Gloucestershire CCC: Gidman sets up a game-plan for Derby
Alex Gidman is adamant Gloucestershire can achieve a positive result in the County Championship Second Division game against Derbyshire, which begins in Derby today, so long as his players adhere to the game-plan.
Although Derbyshire emerged victorious the last time the two sides met in a four-day contest, Gloucestershire boast a good record against the Midlands county in recent seasons.

And skipper Gidman insists he and his young team will approach their latest assignment in positive mood despite their last game against Glamorgan being washed out.
Gloucestershire responded to heavy defeat in their opening game against Essex at Chelmsford by beating Hampshire at the Rose Bowl and having the better of a draw against Kent at Canterbury.

"We're going to Derby in decent form and with our tails up," said Gidman "Derbyshire have strengthened and made some good signings during the winter, but we know how to play against them.
"We'll have a game-plan to deal with them and, so long as we stick to it and are disciplined, we can take points from this game.
"We have done well against Derbyshire down the years and have had some excellent results up there. We know how the wicket plays and we don't expect any real surprises."
Derbyshire lie second in the table, just four points behind leaders Kent, after winning two of their opening three fixtures. But they have a game in hand on both the front-runners and third-placed Gloucestershire.
"They have some aggressive batsmen and have posted some good first-innings totals already," said Gidman.
"We have to match them in that respect and it is up to our batsmen to play as a team and not worry too much about individual scores.
Gloucestershire's batting will be bolstered by the return from New Zealand of overseas signing Kane Williamson.
But batsman Dan Housego (shoulder) and seam bowler David Payne (side strain) are still recovering from injury.
