Cambridge City 2 Gloucester City 1: Gloucester City lost their long unbeaten run in the Southern League Premier Division at Cambridge City last night.

In the second clash between the two play-off contenders in 10 days, Cambridge took the points with goals from David Theobald and Scott Neilson.

Alex Sykes pulled a goal back for the Tigers, but it was not enough.

Theobald opened the scoring on 17 minutes when he brought a goalmouth scramble to an end after a free-kick went loose in the Gloucester box.

The second Cambridge goal arrived on the hour when Neilson ghosted past a couple of defenders to score with a low shot.

Sykes pulled the score back to 2-1 with a terrific free-kick nine minutes later, but that was as good as it got for the visitors.
