Girl escapes Bristol sex attack
A girl escaped a sex attack in Bristol after two members of the public came to her rescue.
Police said the woman was forced to the floor by a man in St Anne's who attempted to sexually assault her, but he ran away when two other men intervened.
-
It happened at about 1am on Saturday night in Hillsborough Road, near the Sainsbury's store.
Detectives said the victim, a 16-year-old, was on the phone when she was approached by her attacker.
After he ran off he was seen running towards Sainsbury's car park. Police described him as a white man in his 20's, 6ft in height. They believe he may be local to the area.
Anyone with information can contact Bristol CID on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Glad the girl was saved by the 2 members of the public, but why shouldn't she be out at 1am? There are no laws againt this, but there are laws against sexually assaults, it time stop blaming the victim, she wasn't doing anything wrong, its time to blame the dirty rotten git who did this!”

“willob - totally agree with you. I am so relieved that some decent people jumped in to help her and that she is ok - it could have been so much worse. I am 40 years old and would not walk around at that time of night on my own let alone let my sixteen year old daughter. I know we SHOULD be able to go where we want whenever we want but unfortunately it is not safe. Best wishes to the girl - I hope she recovers from this awful experience soon.”

“So glad this girl is OK and that there were witnesses around to help her.
Just goes to show, young women should NEVER try and walk home alone at night. Always walk with friends or grab a cab”
