Alex Gidman enjoyed a productive second morning to his side's Division Two game against Leicestershire.

The Gloucestershire CCC captain took lunch on 88 not out with his side 160-5 in their first innings, leading by 27.

The hosts had resumed on 75-4 with the game in the balance. But Gidman and nightwatchman Steve Kirby extended their partnership to 82 before Kirby nicked off spinner Carl Crowe to HD Ackerman for 27.

Wicketkeeper Steve Snell was unbeaten on two and the home side were looking in full control.
