A SEVEN-foot-long snake which went missing is back home safe and well with his owners in Southmead after being found behind the washing machine.

Frank, a two-year-old boa constrictor, broke out of his tank on Friday and slithered through a window.

Owners Katrina and Ben Southall immediately informed the RSPCA, and spent the night with torches looking for him.

Mr Southall, 30, a lorry driver, said he went to use the machine on Saturday morning when he discovered the snake behind it at their home in Ravenglass Crescent.

“And here I was, worried about leaving the dogs out in the garden today, for fear of being eaten by an "on the run" Boa!

Large recess behind your washing machine I assume?!

Lucky it didn't escape, I'd have been worried for the snake with all them feral kids running around!!!”
