German Christmas market opens in Bristol
THE Bristol Christmas Market in Castle Park opens its doors to the public today.
A special sneak preview held last night saw refreshments served in a Bavarian-style beer house and rides on a 35-metre high Ferris wheel which towers over the ruins of St Peter's Church.

“Steve, maybe you haven't realised it yet but a German does not equal a Nazi. From that comment alone I can see that you have never been to Germany and only judge people by your uneducated guesses. Pity.
I am so looking forward to this! The Christmas markets in Germany are amazing and though I don't expect it to be as big as the ones in Germany it will still be a welcome change to the very commercialised Christmas market you see in Bath.”

“We made the effort to go to the German Market Tuesday Night (7pm). Just one stall was open and the German Sausages where black, dry. and severely overdone. Shame on you! So much for supporting one of Bristol's Evening Events.”

“I wonder if anyone else spots the irony in the article. ...the ruins of St. Peter's church. Page 90 in the EPost's own "Post view of Bristol" book features American soldiers in the rubble of St. Peter's ruined in the blitz of Bristol 1940/41.”

“Lucky Mary, German sausages (mmm), just one at a time I hope. I will not be going all the way to Castle Park for a crepe, thanks all the same.”

“I have heard that Father Christmas had to have his sleigh with 4 reindeers tested for air worthiness.
An official sleigh tester sat with him awaiting take off when FC noticed that the official had a hand gun.
FC "What is the gun for?",
Official "A new regulation is to see how you handle the sleigh when you lose an engine just after take off."”
