Gay celebrates Melksham victory after major haul
Chris Gay clinched victory with the only 100lb catch to come from Melksham's Leech Lake during the Warwick Arms AC's weekend visit.
Gay poled an 8mm banded pellet hard on the bottom over a 6mm feed at 10 metres off peg five, but by mid match found himself trailing the leader by a good 20-0-0 of fish.

He said: "During the last two hours, the fish started to feed up in the water so I immediately switched to a polyball float, presented the same bait at a shallow four inch depth and my catch rate improved."
The Veals rod weighed in 38-10-0 clear of his nearest rival with a superb 110-12-0 of carp ranging in size from 1-7lb.
Paul Haines came closest with a similar 72-2-0 taken from neighbouring peg four with the same size bait and feed, while third-placed Stuart Riddle used soft pellet to tempt 58-6-0 from the lakeside margins of peg 2.

Bathhampton AA veteran Terry Bruton finished almost 30lb clear of the field in the Disabled and Over-55's match fished on Bridge Pool at Hunstrete.
The Thatchers Tackle rod alternated a long pole with paste and a pellet waggler with 8mm hair-rigged pellet at peg 30 and clinched victory with 94-11-0 of carp to 8-8-0.
Mike Jones topped the Silverfish list with 18-8-0 of skimmers taken from the lakeside margins of neighbouring peg 31 with caster and maggot.

Jamie Dyte long poled pellet and paste into the island margins at 14.5 metres off Match 5 and ran in a comfortable winner with a 29-carp catch totalling 122-10-0 in the Landsend Midweek Open.
Mark Leader fished the same method and bait as the winner at peg 21 and finished second with 112-5-0 of mostly carp, while Bristol's Tony Rixon fished 6mm hard pellet to the end of the island off corner peg 13 and finished in third place with108-12-0.
The silverfish pools money went to John Bradford, who poled caster at 14 metres to the island off peg 3 and weighed in a 17-7-0 mixed bag.
