Gary Hudson proved that, at over 40, he is still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to timed and observation trials.

Competing in the North Somerset club's two-hour marathon at Compton Dando, he finished seven marks ahead of Jason Hamblin in the trials class.

They both lost nine marks on observation in the same three sections, but Hudson had a faster time.

Matt Ridgeway finished way ahead of his rivals in the Enduro class, but runner-up Paul Baber was best on observation.

The Yeo Vale club, represented by Jason Atwell, Ben Bramwell and Hedley Ashford, were winners of the South West Centre's inter-club team trial at Hound Tor.

They lost five fewer marks than the Exmoor side of Jimmy and Nick Baker and Mike Champion.
