Gary the Gorilla sculpture goes missing from nursery in Hengrove
A GORILLA sculpture has gone missing from a nursery and pre-school in Hengrove.
Gary the Gorilla, as named by youngsters after a competition, was decorated during the Bristol Zoo Wow! Gorilla project by children at Mama Bear’s Nursery and Pre-school in Wells Road.
The colourful statue had been in the nursery’s garden for the last two years, but when staff returned from the weekend on Monday and noticed it was missing.
The statue was last seen on Friday, February 15 at 6pm.

A spokeswoman said: “As you can expect our children are very upset and missing their gorilla play mate.”
Nursery staff reported the missing statue to police, who say investigations are ongoing.
A police spokeswoman said: “Anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of this distinctive statue is asked to call police on 101 quoting crime reference number 17017/13.”
