Gang sentenced to total of 68 years for murder of Bristol carpenter
The gang who murdered Bristol father-of-three Shaun Godfrey were today sentenced to a combined minimum total of 68 years in prison.
Nathan Sargent, 24, of Lynton Road, Bedminster, Michael Hodge, 20, of Fulford Road, and Mark Starr, 20, of Pavey Close and Jason Williams, 18, of Whitland Road, Hartcliffe, conspired to shoot and seriously injure Mr Godfrey, a 26-year-old carpenter from Hartcliffe, after an argument in a pub last December.

At Bristol Crown Court today, Justice Roderick Evans sentenced Sargent and Hodge to life terms with a minium of 24 years before parole, and he sentenced Starr to a life sentence with a minimum of 20 years.
Williams, who was deemed unfit to stand trial because of learning difficulties, was found guilty of committing the act of manslaughter by a jury earlier this morning. He was sentenced to an indefinite Hospital Order under the mental health act.
