The funeral of Colin Alsop, a life member of Shirehampton and former Bristol and District umpire, will take place at Canford on Thursday (3.30pm).

Affectionately known as 'Trigger', Colin helped establish Shire's Under-17 youth team in the early 1980s.

He was also treasurer of the Bristol Youth League for 10 years and served on the committee for more than 22 seasons before becoming a vice-president.
