Former Bristol resident Andy Frost, who flew over from his new home in Australia to compete in last weekend's beach race at Weston, competes in the North Somerset club's two-hour timed and observation trial at Ubley Drove, on the Mendips, this Sunday.

He will clash with regular award winners Peter King, Jeremy Walters, Ivan Manning, Jason Hamblin and Stuart Bowden.

However, the hilltop circuit may favour Enduro class riders Tim Walters, Andy Scrivens, Paul Baber and Jim Munden.

The Weston event will not be run again this weekend as planned owing to first aid cover not being available. However, there is racing at Weymouth on Sunday with 140 starters including Nick Life, Will Worden and James Dodd.

This is a far cry from the three-day Weston event and will be decided over two-and-a-half hour races for juniors, seniors and experts.

Bristol's John May will step up to receive silverware, and the lions share of the prize money, for winning the main event following the final round of the Remedies Bar motocross series at the Ladram Bay Holiday Park circuit in East Devon tomorrow.

Darren Shears and Brett Wheeler have also clinched the 125/250 class championships.

Stockwood's Luke Redstone will finish second in the junior event, if he can fight off a late challenge from Ryan Pryer, who needs to score 29 points more than the Bristol rider to secure runners-up spot in the closely-fought series.

There is two days of British Championship quarter-mile sprinting at Westonzoyland, near Bridgwater.

Leading lights include Barry Varndell, Simon Manno, Phil Steele, Tony Davenidge and Keith Parnell whilst Brian Giles, Henry Body and John Young will be competing in the vintage events.
