Frenchay maintain bright start
Former Premier One side Frenchay made it two wins from as many matches in their maiden summer in Bristol & North Somerset with a 24-run victory against winless Bishopston.
Mike Donaldson cracked 61, putting on a 94-run second-wicket partnership with captain Masoor Khan (35), in Frenchay's 172-5.
South African Wayne Kylander took 5-38 as Rich Stone (39 not out) and Stuart Luff (29) were Bish's best batsmen.
Chipping Sodbury eased to a seven-wicket win against Nailsea.
The Somerset village side were all out for 102, with wickets shared by James Wakefield (2-21), Richard Wood (2-29), Jamie Rendell (3-31) and Jon Toghill (2-16).
Sodbury lost three wickets cheaply but Wakefield and Rendell (both 32 not out) saw the South Gloucestershire outfit home in 29.2 overs.
Claverham won by 24 runs against Timsbury despite Mark Sage hitting a century.
Claverham finished on 249-4 thanks to Paul Bird (60), Jonathan Alston (43) and Richard Thorpe (43 not out).
Sage cracked 113 off 111 balls, including 13 fours and 3 sixes. Greg Passingham (48 not out) was the next highest-scoring batsman.
Hambrook (115-7) won by three wickets against Congresbury (114).
Old Bristolians claimed a 98-run victory against Shirehampton with Alex Harris and overseas player Travis Taylor hitting 71 and 55 respectively.
In Bristol & Somerset, John Bachelor scored an unbeaten 57 from 78 balls in Clevedon's seven-wicket win over North Perrott.
Perrott made 150, Richard Atkinson top-scoring with 49, while Jason Quick took 4-13 off seven overs.
Marc Jenkins (46) put on 109 with Bachelor for the second wicket before Clevedon reached 154-3 in 33.3 overs.
Ashcott & Shapwick (226) beat Brislington (147-6) by 79 runs.
Midsomer Norton thrashed Winterbourne by 151 runs. Opener Martin Cox cracked 53 in the hosts' 205-9. Adam Moore claimed 4-53.
Winterbourne struggled with the bat, with Richard Foot (16 not out) the only player to make it into double figures.
The South Gloucestershire-outfit were skittled for 54 in 22.4 overs with Andrew Cox and Martin Cox taking 5-18 and 3-22 respectively.
Stapleton (269-7) are off the mark after cruising to a 153-run victory against Minehead (116).
Newcomers Bedminster were beaten by 25 runs against Lansdown. Chris Barker hit 83 as Lansdown made 215-9, but the Bedminster batting line-up failed to live up to their reputation. Number 10 Sam Knapp top-scored with 44 in Bedminster's 190.
