Easton residents can find out more about the new Junction 3 Library and Learning Centre, due to open in spring 2012, later this month.

A community festival day takes place at the Mill Youth Centre, in Easton on March 13.

On offer will be a number of fun and free activities to give a flavour of what will be available at the new centre due to open in two years' time, opposite the Mill Youth Centre site, in Lower Ashley Road, Easton.

From 11am to 4pm, visitors can share local memories and stories by making a recording for the new Museum of Bristol or create a digital postcard about Easton.

They can bring their CV and spruce it up with the help of an expert, or have a go at some environmental art and pottery sessions. And anyone looking for something more relaxing can be pampered with an Indian head massage and reflexology.

Music and dance workshops and performances will be led by local groups Hype and Music Works with BCFM community radio on site.

Kate Murray, head of libraries, said: "We are pleased to offer this chance for local people to try out and enjoy new things in a community setting and for residents to have an opportunity to become more closely involved in planning what happens in this exciting new library and learning centre."
