Corby Town 3 Chippenham Town 0: Chippenham's play-off hopes in the Southern League Premier Division suffered a setback with defeat at third-placed Corby.

Corby took a second-minute lead when Leon Mettam scored a penalty after a handball offence.

It became 2-0 in the 12th minute when Mettam's pass found Joe Francis and he rounded goalkeeper Chris Snoody and slotted the ball home from a tight angle.

Francis added the third goal early in the second half following a good pass by Steve Powers.

Chippenham rarely troubled the home defence, although a good effort from Sean Lamb went narrowly wide.
