Foster scheme for animals
RESCUE charity Bristol Dogs and Cats Home has launched a new animal fostering initiative to try to manage the overwhelming number of animals being brought in.
Jess Richardson, fostering co-ordinator, said: "We are constantly overflowing with animals in desperate need of new loving homes.
"In order to ensure our doors are always open to unwanted animals, we are seeking foster carers to help provide the additional accommodation needed. "
Fostering has been proven to help animals overcome past trauma and associated behavioural problems, also helping to avoid the stress related to life in a kennel environment.

Foster Carers are able to work one on one with the animal in a home environment, improving its chances of finding a new home.
Ms Richardson continued: "We are looking for foster homes for both dogs and cats but we have a particularly urgent need for cat fosterers as we have been inundated with unwanted felines, with 60 cats and kittens entering our care in July alone."
