A housing association football team has given 110% in its efforts to support cancer charities.

Merlin Housing Society staff took to the football pitch in a pink kit to mark Breast Cancer Research's Wear it Pink day. They were playing against fellow housing association Curo in a charity football match to raise money for a number of cancer charities including the Bristol Children's Hospital.

And the team were certainly in the pink by the end of the match, coming out 10-0 winners.

Team manager Ricky Gray said: "The match was in aid of some really good causes and we were delighted to be involved. Cancer affects so many people in one way or another so we wanted to do our bit.

"And the pink kit paid off! We couldn't miss each other out there on the pitch. It was a great game and all the team are talking about when we can do it again."

Earlier in the day, staff from the Chipping Sodbury-based organisation raised £215 by wearing pink shirts, wigs, and even an adult-sized baby suit.
