Bristol City's training ground in Failand hosted the second training session of this year's Junior Academy for children aged six and seven.

The youngsters were taught football skills by professional coaches from the club.

The Junior Academy Chance of a Lifetime competition is a joint venture between the Evening Post and our sister paper, the Western Daily Press, who have joined forces with Bristol City for the third year running.

The youngsters who applied are now competing for the chance to see their dreams of one day becoming a professional footballer come true.

Pete Coleman, head of education and development at Bristol City's Academy, who alongside other coaches and academy scholars from the club taught the youngsters some basic ball skills last night, said he continued to be impressed by the standard of football.

He said: "They have all played some football and have probably had some coaching, but probably not a lot and at this age you do not want to over-coach them.

"There are good early signs. They want to learn and play and they have been having fun.

"Their enthusiasm is terrific and their attitude is excellent."
