A restaurant in Berkeley Square is having a makeover.

More than £180,000 is being spent to transform Ha! Ha! Bar and Canteen into ha ha bar & grill, which will have a greater emphasis on food. The new restaurant will open on Monday, August 17.

General manager Matthew Smith said: "The restaurant will have a bright and contemporary new look as well as a stunning open kitchen from where guests can enjoy the theatre of cooking by watching ha ha's head chef Neil Honeysett and his team create their dishes.

"The refurbished restaurant will include a new bar, heated outdoor seating area in its unique sunken courtyard, and a complete transformation of the bar and restaurant.

"The restaurant will have a stylish, modern and yet intimate feel to it with low ceilings and quality finishes.

"Whether you are looking for a destination for a romantic meal for two, somewhere special for that family get-together, or the perfect ingredients for a party with friends the new ha ha bar & grill is the place to be."

“I think that's a bit unfair saying its not a story. I've become so used to reading about pubs/bars being shut down that it makes a change, particularly in this current climate, that a company sees fit to invest in a premises, creating jobs for local people and, as a result, the area.”

“So you think the Evening Posts got a load of free meals in return for running stories about Bar Ha Ha then?

Wow, I bet Bar Ha HA are annoyed about the sloppy spelling in the title....

I'd like to see the editor's response on this one.”

    “Conrad you miss the point.

It wouldn't have been free, something this extensive would have cost Bar Ha Ha for sure. The point is that the EP pretend that it is news and think we are stupid enough not see it for what it is.

Still without adverts a lot of online content would be gone. It doesn't make the EP or Bar 'har har' look very good though, honesty and all that.”
