Focus group to have say on police cuts
THERE is still time to register interest to take part in a budget focus group being held by Avon and Somerset Police Authority in Bristol.
The events are being held across the force area in December and January to give residents a chance to have a say on the police budget, following the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review, which announced cuts in the funding given to constabularies.

Chair of the police authority, Dr Peter Heffer, said: "This is a crucial time and we want to make sure residents are properly informed and feedback their views as we look to make the right decisions.
"We will set the final police budget in February 2011, and the Your Police Your Voice consultation allows residents play a real part in identifying their priorities and to shape the future of policing services."
