Flat Holm could be put on the market by Cardiff City Council under plans announced yesterday.

The Labour-led cabinet of Cardiff City Council said cuts of £22m had to be found in the next budget, and one of the proposals suggested has been to sell-off the distinctive island, which is visible from Weston-super-Mare.
Russell Goodway, who holds the finance portfolio in the Cardiff cabinet, last night told colleagues the council should cut trips to the island and put the wildlife haven up for sale.

“Sounds far more like a strategic and political move to help ease the way for Peter Hain's dodgy and ill thought out Victorian barrage plans.. sell the Islands, get rid of the scientific and wildlife wonders.. http://tinyurl.com/dyqkmnw
No pulling the wool over our eye Peter Hain.”
