Children from Leapfrog Day Nursery were treated to a special visit from the local fire service.

The Fire and Rescue Service brought with them two working fire engines and the youngsters were able to explore the vehicles and equipment, even getting to sit in the driver's cab.

The visit highlighted the danger of fire and how accidents can be prevented.

Nursery manager Melanie Bevis said: "The children loved being able to explore the fire engine, and were especially excited when they could try on the fireman's hat."
