Firefighters rescue dog
A DOG which got stuck on a bank next to the River Frome had to be rescued by firefighters.
A fire crew was called to the stranded beagle at Vassalls Park in the Oldbury Court estate, Fishponds, at 7pm on Wednesday. They were joined by a specialist swift water rescue team in case anyone fell into the water.
An Avon Fire and Rescue spokesman said specialist rescue equipment and a safety harness was used to rescue the dog.
