Fundraisers at a small Filton primary school are hoping their annual fireworks event will be a roaring success.

The parents' association at Charborough Road Primary is aiming to raise about £1,500 from the event tomorrow night.

It is open to all and tickets are £3.50 (pre-school children get in free).

Gates are open between 6.30pm and 7pm and the fun starts with a fire-eating display by a hula-hoop dancer, followed by the fireworks display at 7.30pm.

Jo Clayton, one of the organisers, said the group raised a total of £14,000 for the school last year.

Money had been used to buy a gazebo and another outdoor shelter, as well as smaller items such as cameras.
