Filton Labour Branch having Pub crawl
Filton Labour party are organising a pub crawl on the 26th May 2012 and are inviting members interested to join in. The plan is to start at the Wellington pub on Gloucester Road, from 8 pm and crawl on from there.
Any members interested are asked to contact the Filton Labour branch secretary, Councillor Roger Hutchinson for more details.

“Instead of seeing adverts for social gatherings it would be much better PR to see a published Filton manifesto from the Filton Labour party. The group holds the majority on Filton Town council, yet they publish no plan of what they intend to do to improve the Town for the community. They continue to fail to address ongoing issues on the council and are being led by the union Unite behind the scenes, who are making all sorts of demands upon the council on behalf of the staff. Labour councillors also signed a contract with the unite union without consulting with rest of council or taking a full council vote. Its the councillors and council management who should be managing the staff, not the Unite union.
Labour are allowing their ties with the national Labour party to influence how it manages a parish council. This is not an impartial approach and is not balanced management for the community. It can only lead to increased running costs and a council being run by Labour policy rather than whats right for the community they are supposed to serve.”
