Filton Councillor allowances published

“Not getting very much for our buck, but pushing against residents and secret meetings. Having read the councillor reports for 2009/10, it read like a school report, could so much better!!

When I read councillor Hutchinsons report thinking was it worth £77,000 I came to a strong conclusion, I will leave you to do the same.

My conclusion is they can make up what they like and write it, how about feedback surveys from the community?? They can claim anything. In the report for example, councillor Huthcinson claims he supported lane gating, the reality was he fought fiercely against residents on the plans, only to steal credit when they proved to reduce crime dramtically.”

“This shows what each councillor received and what Labour expenses were paid. You can see for yourselves, at the time Conservatives provided much more for your money than Labour and given how often one Labour councillors name is in the news for all the wrong reasons. at least you now know where all your money is going.”

Councillor Hutchinson appears only interested to only grab his glory the recent bus shelter picture with him front and centre as it was being installed was cringeworthy.

He continually fights against residents and his own branch members who are scared to death of him due to his long standing within the party. He is the John Prescott of Filton. How ironic that he faced another bullying claim from within his own Labour branch and he was the one to reject an investigation??? Self regulation which come next elections people will remember.

I'm sure these expenses are above board, but far too much for the role compared to the others. He was unaware of the Filton council land grab by south glos, knew nothing about the closure of Filton health clinic and fought residents on the need to install security gates on lanes to reduce crime, yet finds the time to captain a Filton boules team and get a cycle track built for his club on town council land! He now takes that boules team to Aleston to avoide being charged to use his Filton courts!! Very supportive of the local economy for the area.

The time has come for Filton Labour members to stand up and be counted and oust a councillor who does not have the best interest of Filton at heart in my opinion.

Only then can we move on and reshape Labour in Filton!”

“Councillor Hutchinson has been frantically tweeting all day that this is spin! How can factual £77000 be spin? He hates being exposed as the most expensive councillor Filton has ever known!
He tweets its a Tory attack which is how he tries to justify such a huge amount.
The question is for a councillor who tweets every day that he's watching daytime TV, is this money well spent? Filton deserves better.
At a time when people are counting every penny we have a right to question our public servants!”

“Bet you wont see him stood with his picture taken holding his expenses payments taking the credit on the Sglos Labour website, they wont even mention this will they!

The thing that gets me about this, is this filton councillor is now too tight to pay fees to use his boules courts he had built, so he takes his team (Les Filton exiles) to Alveston instead!! everyone else has to pay, but he thinks he's special and shouldn't. He is failing to support the local Filton leisure centre.

This is too much money for what they do.cant remember the last time they were seen around filton apart from election time posting propaganda leaflets.”

“It matters not how a councillor tries to flower it up, expenses are expenses, even if you call them allowances, they are still at the expense of the taxpayer of Filton! We don't need three councillors sucking Filton dry and certainly not one that can earn £77,000 for being a local councillor holding one surgery a month and going to a few meetings for tea and cake.
Now we have three Labour councillors so there isn't even any balanced representation anymore.

Personally, I feel robbed by this and disgusted that these figures are not more widely published by local parties. Filton town council should put this on their home page right next to the councillor surgery dates!”
