A YATE fire crew is encouraging people to do their bit to help more people survive cancer.

The firefighters from Blue Watch joined forces with Cancer Research UK to help launch the Stand Up To Cancer campaign. The aim is for people to help fight the disease by fundraising for research that could help more people to survive.

Every hour about three people are diagnosed with cancer in the South West and Stand Up To Cancer aims to raise money to accelerate groundbreaking research to help more people survive and ensure more families stay together.

Nick Randall, watch manager at Yate Fire Station said: "We are calling on everyone in the South West to follow our lead and Stand Up To Cancer."

This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.
