A FESTIVAL which drew thousands to Castle Park last year is set to return for a second time.

Organisers of Love Saves the Day, which fell on the Queen's Jubilee weekend last year, are looking to build on the success of the one-day event.

Tom Paine, from Team Love, who are putting together the festival, said: "We are really excited about the second Love Saves the Day.

"The huge success of the first year took us all by surprise – the reaction by the people in Bristol to it and also the huge numbers it brought into the city on the weekend."

He added that strong demand for tickets this year means the festival is set to sell out by the end of February.

He said: "What makes it so great is that the festival is slap bang right in the centre of Bristol – which we find really symbolic given that the heart of Bristol for us is its music and creativity."

Last year's event attracted around 8,000 people to a number of stages in the park hosting more than 40 acts from Bristol and beyond.

This year's event takes place on Saturday, May 25, with Bonobo performing once again. A long list of this year's confirmed artists can be found at www.lovesavestheday.org.
