MOTORISTS travelling through Churchill should find their journeys easier after faulty traffic lights were replaced.

The new lights at the crossroads where the A38 meets the A369 use extra low voltage LED lights and react more quickly to traffic flows and approaching vehicles.

As part of the £82,000 scheme, pedestrian crossings, line markings and pavements have been upgraded, and drains repaired.

Traffic lights at the junction of New Bristol Road and Summer Lane in Weston-super-Mare have been also been replaced, at a cost of £20,000.
