Fathers' rights campaigner jailed for abusing young child
A Fathers 4 Justice campaigner has been jailed for sexually abusing a young child.
Lee Doyle, from Sea Mills, was known for his involvement with the civil rights group and its protests calling for better rights for caring dads.

Jailed: Lee Doyle
Having sexually abused the youngster, he denied any wrong-doing, leaving the child to face the traumatic consequences of giving evidence in court.
Doyle, 26, was convicted of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity as well as engaging in sexual activity.
Judge David Ticehurst imposed the maximum jail term of four years.
He told Doyle: “You were convicted on clear evidence and the aggravating feature is that your victim was very young.
“The child was forced to give evidence at a very young age.
“It’s abundantly clear having to give evidence has had a regrettable impact on the child.
“You continue to maintain your innocence when it’s abundantly clear you were guilty.”
The judge, who said he thought that potentially Doyle posed a serious risk of harm to young children, made him the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order keeping him away from youngsters for 10 years.
Doyle was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
Nicholas O’Brien, prosecuting, read out personal statements from the victim’s mother, father and grandmother.
The child’s mother said that when the offences came to light the young victim had to be medically examined, which caused distress.
She said: “From the time of the interview the child had a disturbed sleep pattern, and would often wake up during the night crying. The child was having nightmares and getting upset. Around this time the child also became protective of its bed, not wanting other family members to sit on it.”
An original trial set for October last year was postponed because Doyle’s solicitors asked for the child to be seen by a psychologist – a request which was retracted following an intermediary’s assessment.
The child’s mother said the victim had to then prepare for a trial last month, and when cross-examined remained unshaken.
The child’s father said the child had become a bit more argumentative, less obedient and it seemed the child’s mind had wandered.
He said: “When the trial concluded and we were told the verdict the child was upset.
We had to explain to the child again that the only person at fault was Doyle.”
The child’s grandmother said the child had mentioned that Doyle had warned about telling anyone else about what happened.
She said: “The child suffered from a great deal of bad dreams, some of these were specifically about Lee Doyle.”
Giles Morrison, defending, said his best mitigation was his client’s young age, previous good character and good behaviour since.
He said he was concerned about the imposition of the order because Doyle, who has a background working in sales, was involved in family proceedings regarding children from a former relationship.

“Well said Mark Harris, Plymouth. Four years is nothing like long enough for what Doyle did to that poor child (children) and not only do I hope he rots in prison but pray that he never gets the opportunity to go near another child again.”

“4 years??? Maximum sentence??
The law is so perverse. He took someones childhood away from them and gets 4 years for it. Scandellous to say the least. Should be nutered like a dog for behaviour like that.”

“There is a preponderance of wife-beaters and child abusers in the fathers' rights groups. Abusers don't care about children- except as objects for their twisted pleasure.
Decent parents beware. One can be duped- but- many fathers go to meetings -only to never return- disgusted by what they see and hear.”

“Where's his Superman cape now? How often these "caring" fathers really know how to take care of children.
F4J your deceptions are unraveling.”

“As an active member of F4J I really hope this piece of scum (Lee Doyle) rots in jail for what he did to that poor little child.
I see on here the usual father-bashers (often not having the guts to put their full names to what they say, ie;anon) are trying to tar all the F4J dad's as unfit, but the reality of it is every organisation and profession has a few bad people.
Just look at how many Policemen, Clergy, Teachers, Social workers, doctors, etc, etc that have been convicted of children offences over the years.
F4J is a global movement, it is a sad fact of life there will be one or two bad people involved, but percentage wise I doubt the numbers are any higher that the bad teachers, Policemen and catholic Priests that are also serving time.”

“Thank you Carly. This man, who was a member of Fathers4Justice, has clouded the cause that many perfectly fit fathers and others (mothers, grandparents and extended family members and close carers) are 'fighting for.......
A radical change within child protection in practice and the diabolical very secret family justice procedures that are so often not serving (more less being 'seen' to serve) justice for children.
Fathers4Justice have highlighted how so many children, within the existing 'system' can and are being enabled (some would say aided by law) to be ISOLATED from the 'perfectly fit' individuals who they are bonded with and who matter to them.
ISOLATED children who can and are, in some cases, being rendered into 'care' to be 'looked after' by strangers, when they have no need to be !
(I am not a member of Fathers4Justice but I do understand why they are driven to protest)
Don't judge all The Fathers by this one child abuser.
It is a fact of life that child abusers can and do operate in all 'social' groups.
My heart goes out to the child who has been made to suffer, in this reported case.
The hope is that this child can recover some trust in humanity.
Thye mindset of any adult who abuses children is very hard for most of us to understand.”

“I know of a couple who . split and made their own access arrangements that suited both parties. They were on speaking terms and have been to each others second weddings. Unfortunately the CSA got wind of their informal arrangement and threw a great big spanner in the works. Now because of interference from the CSA they don't talk to each other any more. This is in part due to the fact that the solicitors representing the woman told her that if she wanted to keep custody of their children and receive maintenance she needed to tell the courts that she was a victim of domestic violence (Off the record advise of course!) I don't think this is an isolated incident either
The two main problems are the introduction of lawyers to the mix and the fact that these proceedings are held in secret. These are things that stunts by F4J will never change (just make worse) We need to be 'stalking' our MPs. Only they have the power to change things”

“Tina- how would you like it if the Judge said to you that you couldn't have your children because you lived in a less salubrious area than your ex who now lives in henleaze? You wouldn't like it. In comparison that it what family judges do every day when they award residence to mothers and contact to fathers. Mothers make up lies about the father of thier children all the time. We spent over 15.5k on going through the courts. My husbands ex wife received the house, car, everything in the house and he walked away with nothing- except what was important to him, seeing his 4 children every fri, sat, sun.
When he met me, he did not introduce me to his children for a year to ensure that things would work out and not put his children through too much upheaval- we had nothing but bitchy behaviour from his ex who kept warning us that we had been seen in the village he came from- together!!! Of course she was happy to pull every weekend and take the blokes back to her house and the children asked their dad to have a word with their Mum as this was upsetting them- she thre him out of 'her house' and told him never to come to her door again.
All this time goes on and we get engaged adn then move to 1 mile from the children so that one of the children can move in with us- he is running away from home.
Obviously the other 3 want to cone over too and we convert the loft to move up ther and on our first weekend there receive a letter accusing my then fiance of being an unreliable dad who needs to have the children every week for at least 2 nights- and one of these must be the weekend( surely not becuase she likes going on the pull)
So we have the children 3 nights a week, my fiancee keeps paying maintenance and then cuts it by 25% after 6 months of the one child living with us.
Ex goes back to csa for more money- she has been collecting tax credits, child benefit and maintenance for all this time for a child who won't even see her as he feels she puts her boyfriends before him.
CSA ring us up and talkk to us- transpires they don't know one child live with us all the time and two live with us 50% of the time and other now rarely see us- she has been alienated by mother in something known as parental alientaion syndrome.
CSA say ex owes hubby £5.5k and suggest we take her to small claims court- furthermore we don't have to pay her another penny.
She stops contact to the younger two children.
CSA ring us up to find out what is happening- they say she has phoned them and told her she now has full responsibility for them and they can start charging again for maintenance. They inform us that she is taking hubby to court to reduce maintenance.
We spend 15.5k on solicitors who were useless and just antagonised the situation. We heard about fathers for justice and contacted them- we were warned that dads often get falsely accused of domestic violence and child abuse to distance fathers from their children. My husband did not believe she would do this, but sure enough she claimed she was the victim of domestic violence.
Luckily my husband was awarded residency of his eldest son and joint residency of his twin boys.
We achieved this thanks to fathers for justice and families need fathers and i would advise anyone seeking contact to go litigant in person with the assistance of a mckenzie friend.
The judges we were in front of showed no understanding of what lying scheming bitches some women can be to get custody/ control over their children.
Magistrates are even worse- load of old duffers who have no understanding of how much time dads spend with their children in this modern life.
My husbands ex has finally got a job after training as a teacher thanks to the taxpayer. likewise she got legal aid to do the same.
We had to work and work to pay for the solcitors costs and guess hwat, the CSA and HM Revenue and Customs stated they would never ask her for the overpayments she had received back- do you think they would have do”
