Farewell Dandy

IT'S sad to hear of the impending demise of The Dandy after over 70 years of publication. In it's 50s heyday, it sold over 2 million copies a week. Desperate Dan, Beryl the peril and Denis The Menace from that other classic edition the Beano were like a national institution. Puerile? Not really. It marked days of pure innocence where the height of mischief was stink bombs, itching powder and playing Knock Out Ginger (ringing doorbells).

A far cry from the technological world of today of which it has no doubt become a victim.
