Family run marathon in aid of Weston Hospicecare
Nurse Corrine Thomas has collected £2,300 in sponsorship after completing the Bristol Half Marathon last month.
The 47-year-old, who is the manager of the Oncology and Haematology Day Unit at Weston General Hospital, ran in aid of Weston Hospicecare.
Her husband, Robert and their daughter, Gemma, joined her and they all completed the 13-mile race.
Corrine, who lives on Ellesmere Road, Uphill, is a neighbour of the Hospice.
She said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to patients past and present and my work colleagues for the tremendous support they have given me in helping to raise such a large amount of money.
"It has been lovely to hear from patients and get little notes with messages like 'well done' and 'thinking of you'.
"People have been really generous with their sponsorship, with such contributions as £10 and £20.
"Between myself, Robert and Gemma, we have raised nearly £3,000."
Corrine completed her first half marathon in two hours and 21 minutes. Robert, aged 51, ran it in two hours and 51 minutes, while Gemma, 24, arrived at the finishing line in a time around the two and a half hour mark.
