A NEW outdoor travel shop aimed at family road trips and holidays in the UK will open in Brislington next weekend.

Visitors to the Family Travel Centre at Flowers Hill will be able to win prizes and take part in fun activities at the centre's launch.

Next Saturday and Sunday the shop will host live music, a Formula 1 simulator car, and an outdoor cookery demonstration by chef Monica Rivron, who recently published the Caravan Cookbook.

Visitors will also have the chance to win a weekend away in a campervan and a hot air balloon ride for two.

As well as selling and hiring road trip vehicles and equipment, the shop sells everything from tents to toasters and camping equipment. It was set up by three fathers who are passionate about holidaying in the South West.

Co-founder Matt Hunt said: "We have been enjoying road trips together for years and have loved sharing the flexibility, freedom and adventure with our families and friends, which is why we started Family Travel Centre.

"We know what is involved in taking your family on the road because we all have children ourselves, so Family Travel Centre has been set up so we can advise visitors on their options, talk them through the practicalities, and give them some great places to visit ."
