Fairfield School concerns over mosquito device
Last week the planning committee agreed unanimously to grant permission for mosquito devices to be fitted to protect the playing fields at Fairfield School from damage by people breaking in and trespassing on the site.
We clearly have to take the opportunity granted by greater security to work out positive ways of making the playing fields into a community resource.

I have asked that officers from the Youth Service and from Sport and Leisure meet soon to work out proposals to create a well-used and valued sports facility for the area.
The school and the local community must be fully involved in working out what is practical and needed.
There is clearly local concern about breakout of noise from the site into public areas. This must be carefully monitored and the results open to the community to check.
