On the up - Expansion promotes Oldland again
Oldland Abbotonians' women's team have won promotion for the second season in a row.
The Bristol club finished runners-up in Division One (North) of the South West Women's League last season, but will start the new campaign in the Premier Division after a reorganisation of the league's structure.
The Premier Division has been expanded to 12 clubs for the first time, with Eastern and Western Divisions replacing the former North and South geographical splits.
The Eastern Division is made up of clubs from the Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire areas, while the Western Division features clubs from Devon and Cornwall.
Oldland's assistant boss Steve Lavis said: "The league offered us the chance of promotion and after some discussion with our girls we decided to take it.
"It's a massive step up for us – probably bigger than the one we made the previous season when we came up from the Gloucestershire County Women's League – but I am optimistic we will be able to hold our own.
"But we will need to recruit some new faces before the start of the season and that is something we are working on at the moment."
SW Women's League – Premier Division: Bristol Ladies Union, Cheltenham Town, Chippenham Town, Frome Town, Gloucester City, Larkhall Athletic, Oldland Abbotonians, Poole Town, Saltash United, Stoke Lane Athletic, Taunton Town, Weymouth Town.

● Five new clubs have been accepted into the Gloucestershire County Women's League for next season. They are Cheltenham Civil Service, Quedgeley Wanderers, St Nicholas, Stoke Lane Athletic Reserves and Wootton Bassett.
