YOUNGSTERS at St Werburgh's Park Nursery School and Children's Centre decorated paper lanterns and showed off their artwork as part of the city's Festival of Education.

The exhibition of children's artwork, which has gone on display in the entrance to Bristol University's Graduate School of Education in Berkeley Square, was launched by 42 pupils and their families.

Now in it's second year the festival, organised by the university, aims to showcase the latest ideas in learning and is intended to provoke discussion on education. Topics covered include everything from education quality, learning technology, privatising higher education to spirituality, ethics and philosophy.

A series of free talks, exhibitions, performances and debates have been organised. Members of the public are welcome to attend the festival, which runs until June 20, with talks being given by internationally recognised researchers, representatives from the ss Great Britain Trust and Bristol City Council.
