Bridgwater Town have signed former Yeovil Town assistant manager Steve Thompson, who has been added to their squad for Thursday's home Southern League Cup semi-final clash with Premier Division Swindon Supermarine.

Thompson, 46, who left the Glovers along with manager Russell Slade last month, has also played for Bristol City, Woking and Wycombe.

Bridgwater boss Craig Laird said: "Steve and I were schoolmates for a short spell and have always kept in touch through football. I am sure his experience will bring the best out of the players around him."

Defender Bradley Middleton misses the game as he starts a two-match suspension, while there is a doubt over Jamie Laird, who has a knee injury. Piers Govier comes into the squad.

Mark Draycott (suspended) and Kyle Lapham (knee injury) are missing for Swindon Supermarine.
