Ex-Portsmouth and Stoke City striker Pericard on trial at Bristol City
Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has taken former Juventurs, Portsmouth and Stoke striker Vincent Pericard and Ghana international Quincy Owusu-Abeyie on trial.
City's manager is working hard to find a replacement for Glasgow Rangers forward Andrius Velicka, whose season-long loan was abruptly ended by serious injury in last week's Championship clash against Queens Park Rangers.

Former Portsmouth and Juventus forward Vincent Pericard on trial at Bristol City
The pair will spend this week training with the first team squad and are then expected to feature in a behind-closed-doors friendly against neighbours Bristol Rovers next Monday.
Former Portsmouth, Juventus and Sheffield United raider Pericard is available on a free transfer after being released by Premier League Stoke City at the end of last season.
And he was yesterday joined by Holland-born Ghana international Owusu-Abeyie, a 23-year-old winger who spent time on Birmingham City's books in 2008.
Currently playing for Russian club Spartak Moscow, Owusu-Abeyie could be available for a small fee if he impresses Bristol City's coaching staff.
Johnson warned: "I don't want people to get too carried away, because Vincent and Quincy are not properly fit at the moment.
"It's nothing spectacular – we're just taking a look at them and monitoring their fitness. They have been plagued by injuries and neither has played a lot of games over the last year or so."
Johnson continued: "Pericard is a free agent and Quincy could become one quite soon. The fact Quincy is with a club in Russia, makes things a little more difficult in his case. If we like them, we'll look at them, if not, we'll move them on."

“This should be about love, not money. Don't let others try to take you from me. I don't wanna have to apologise. I don't wanna feel I've been penalised, Just cause I can drive in a better car, live in a bigger house just like a superstar, garry says that I can only give you
material things, but that's not true, you see my heart is rich with love for you. Don't let him make you doubt my love for you Bristol Skitty. (is that right? Oh City sorry)”

“Regrettably I have to agree with the majority of comments. Pericard has the makings of cross between Stern John and Andy Smith. Garry, please do not throw good money at this man, he is a bad penny. I would much prefer to see Akinde given a run in the side before we start scraping the barrel with the likes of Pericard.”

“DW,
Was it a typo or was it a reference to a great striker?
Being an 82 fan - you wouldn't know!!
I love it when people resort to personal insults - demonstrates that they've lost the argument......”

“What is GJ thinking of, my wife and father in law are Stoke fans and I read the fanzine every week. Pericard is a waste of space donkey. Don't even think about it Gary, you have made too many errors trying to sign a striker, this could be you biggest yet.”
