Fracking is where fluids are pumped underground at high pressure to fracture rocks to release trapped gas for extraction as fuel.
The group and its many supporters believe fracking poses serious threats to public health and the environment including the dangerous contamination of our water supply, the leakage of methane – a potent greenhouse gas – in to the
atmosphere, and the contamination of agricultural land and animals.
The Frack Free Somerset fundraiser begins at 8pm. Entertainment includes the exciting new Bristol band Ushti Baba who play an energetic mix of acoustic British and Eastern European folk music fused with contemporary beats.
