Gloucestershire batsman, Chris Taylor has been appointed by the ECB as fielding coach to help the England Performance Programme squad in India.

The England Performance Programme is a 15 man squad, captained by Robert Key, who will tour India this winter. The squad will depart for Bangalore on 21st November and will play two four-day games before returning to the UK on 19th December.

Chris Taylor said “I was very pleased to be approached by the ECB to be involved with this as it is a very exciting prospect.

"I see this as a real opportunity to further my own coaching aspirations and offer me the chance to work with elite level players which should also help will help with my game. I hope to add value on the EPP programme as well as to Gloucestershire in the future."

Taylor is renowned for his fielding abilities within County cricket and this is a great opportunity having taken on additional responsibility to help with Gloucestershire’s fielding this season.

This announcement comes in the same week that Gloucestershire announced Chris had been awarded a Benefit year for 2009.
