Former England captain Tony Adams was in Bristol to add his name to the world's largest England shirt.

The 50ft kit is currently touring the country collecting signatures of support for the England team before being sent out with them to the 2010 World Cup in June.

And for one shopper it was a second chance to bag a prized photo with the Arsenal legend.

Louise Elliott, 39, from Fishponds, won tickets to see an England friendly at Wembley last year where she was snapped with her hero, Adams.

But she got home to find the picture came out blurred.

The mum-of-two had to blink twice in Cabot Circus yesterday as she came out of a store to see Adams posing for the cameras in front of the giant England shirt, created by England sponsors Nationwide, and he posed a second time with her.

The 43-year-old earned 66 caps for his country.

And he is looking forward to World Cup games in Bristol if England's 2018 bid is successful.

"I'm 100 per cent behind Bristol getting games," he said.

"It's got an unbelievable catchment area and a new stadium on the way. I'm also unbeaten here as a manager so I like the place!"

“What a great idea. Adams' record as a manger would suit City down to the ground: Games 75, Won 16, Lost 31, Drew 28.

Averages at 46 points over the course of a season.

He'd do an even better job than Agent Johnson is doing!

Keep up the good work Gary, you'll soon get City where they belong.

    Ha ha ha ha ha.”

“Offer him the City job whilst he's down here!”
